Leaving Las Vegas

I've heard about this movie for years, and have never seen it. DH recently bought it for me, and it's sitting on the coffee table at home, waiting for me to find 2 hours of time where I can fully concentrate on it (not an easy feat for me LOL!). Just curious if any of you have seen it and what your thoughts are (without giving anything away). I'm almost hesitant to watch it because although I heard it was a very, very good movie, I also heard it was very depressing. I'm depressed enough in the middle of winter in Pittsburgh! Not sure I want to add to it! ;)
