Clearly, I haven't been paying attention. Great news! We haven't figured out ground transportation yet, but I'm sure there's a shuttle going to Miami hotels. It will be a long, slow trip, but we'll get there. I'll investigate eventually and let you know. Or if you beat me to it, share the info.

I went ahead and booked into Miami, the difference between the two wasn't that great of a savings and I knew I'd have to pay shuttle fees if I flew into Ft. Lauderdale. Now I'll just get a shuttle from Miami to IC right? Free?

I don't remember it being free but it wasn't a whole lot. We royally blew it buy underestimating the ground transportation to the IC -- we're basically paying the same for the joy of an hour shuttle ride. Typical Pink move.

There are no free shuttles from either airport, you only get that when the hotel has it's own shuttle.

Shannon,
The least expensive shuttle in Miami is SuperShuttle, I think it's around $15, unfortunately you can't make an online reservation for the Miami airport, but you can call.

The shuttles come frequently enough that you probably don't need a reservation to get a ride from the airport to the IC, but you will need a reservation to get picked up at the hotel to get back to the airport.

I know of a few hotels in South Beach that actually offer a complimentary airport shuttle to and from the Miami Airport and will let anybody ride no questions asked, but the InterContinental has never offered this service as far as I know. It might be worth checking out if one of the other high end hotels in the Downtown Miami area within easy walking distance offers a free shuttle.

Miami Airport is only 5 or 6 miles from the IC and if you do a little comparison shopping beforehand, you should be able to find a shuttle for under 10 bucks.

I strongly recommend flying into FtL. It's a heck of alot easier getting in/out of that airport vs Miami. I took the Super Shuttle the last two times. Didn't have to wait long to get one (just outside the door from the bag claim). It was $15.00 or $16.00 @ way plus the tip. In 2006 the ride took 30 minutes because I was the first one dropped off. In 2007 it took about an hour since I was the last one off (but at least I got to see the old DeVille). You call the day before you leave and make a reservation to be picked up at the hotel. They call you about an hour before they arrive.

Miami is wwaaaayyyyy to busy for my slice of Cheeze

All the budget carriers such as Southwest & JetBlue fly into Fort Lauderdale Airport and you almost always get a better deal on all the other domestic carriers if you fly into FLL rather than Miami.

The IC is 25 miles from FLL versus 7 miles from the Miami Airport.

Inflation, Cheeze, it's now $32 each way to the IC.

"Almost always" is right Mat. For some reason out of Newark, JetBlue to Ft. Lauderdale is more expensive than American to Miami.

I wouldn't give up on JetBlue just yet. If you can hold out, they normally have some kind of spring airfare sale or two within the WSSC time frame that I've taken advantage of in past years.

I bought my ticket already, but the way gas prices are going up , I wouldn't count on airline ticket prices to drop.

Unless I badly mis-read that price,it's based on at least 2 people sharing the journey:(

I have found an alternative means of transport from FLL,it's approx. $18 for a shared car and it's at this link http://www.floridalimo.com/
