This may be a silly question, but I'm not an ipod expert so I thought I'd run it by those of you who are! My computer died recently, but luckily, my husband had been backing up my music and pictures pretty regularly (in some kind of "briefcase"). For some reason, my itunes has like 300 less songs than my ipod (I know I didn't download anywhere near 300 songs since he backed it up last, so I'm not sure where the discrepency is!) Itunes wants to download an update for the ipod when I charge it, which of course, will erase what's there. Can I get the 300 songs (presuming I can figure out which ones they are without going crazy!) into my itunes before I erase so they can be reloaded?

Thanks!

Traci,

There are a number of third party applications, shareware and freeware, depending upon what platform you computer is, that will copy songs from you iPod back on to your computer.

A belated thanks, SpinBob, for the link! I'll have to give one of them a shot. You seem to know a lot about ipods so maybe you know the answer to this...why are some of my songs cut off before they're over (some not even halfway) but they are fully intact on the computer? The ipod seems incredibly user-friendly, but I seem to keep having little issues...

Thanks again!

I have that problem every now and then. It may be the file on your iPod has been corrupted. I'd delete and replace it with the good version from you computer.
