I would love to get to WSSC this year, but it's not looking like it's going to happen. I'm looking over the schedule for DCAC and thinking that may be a better option. Anyone else going?
The Spinning presenters are Jeff Krabiel, T. Reilly and T. Arendt (I think). I've taken a couple of CEC's with Jeff and thought he was a great presenter. Does anyone have any experience with either of the other 2? I wouldn't care so much if it were just one or two sessions with a particular MI, but since the entire weekend is being present by just the 3 of them, I want to make sure it's going to be good!!:)
The other thing I need to consider is that I'm supposed to be doing IM Lake Placid the weekend before (I will decide for sure before the 6/1 withdraw deadline if I've got enough long rides under my belt for this one). I don't want to be totally trashed for the conference but I guess I could just do the rides at a recovery pace if it works out that way).

Traci, not familiar with those names at all. I usually go to DCAC - will have to look at the offerings for this year.
I'm signed up. I know nothing about the instructors. Figured it was time away from the kids. If the training sucks, I'm going hit the bar and bike drunk. After a massage, of course.

Jeff is great. He's such a down to earth guy and very knowledgeable... he has been presenting at WSSC for years and I've taken workshops with him every year I've attended (The Wild Card ride, 5 ways to climb, etc) This year I'll be taking "Running w/ Resistance vs. Standing Flats" with him...
I actually make a point to select at least one of his workshops because I can bring a lot back to my "regular" riders. He's all about keeping it real for your participants.
Terri (Arends) is very nice and knowledgeable as well. I would recommend both of them.

What Alex said about Jeff, and he's got great music, at least to my tastes. He really has a knack for breaking things down into basic components. It really makes taking information back from his sessions a breeze.

I totally agree with both you and Alex, Bob. I took Profile Design and HR Games and Strength, Hills & Power with Jeff and loved both his presentation style and music! I know his sessions will be great but am just hopeful that the other 2 presenters are good. Since there are only 3, you end up taking like 4 or 5 classes with each so I hope it's someone really good as I'll be seeing a lot of them!
Anyone else going?

Hi EuroD!
Yep, Dawn is still with us, and I hope to actually bring 2 new ones to DCAC! We lost one instructor, and most of the people teaching only want 1-2 classes a week b/c of other obligations. So...time to hire some more instructors!
If you make it to DCAC, we'll have to hook up again - inexpensive and good dinner at Red Mei!

Hey Euro or T....Since you guys have been to DCAC before, I've got a question for you. How many star points do you get for doing the whole weekend? Or don't these CEC's count the same? I'd like to get working on Star 3 and this would be a good chance! Thanks!

I petitioned for points this year, and they wouldn't accept them. I'm being optimistic tho and putting it down to "I got the wrong person". :D

Abby - I was planning on taking Josh's ride. As of yesterday, there was no online registration for it on Spinning.com.
EuroD - I received STAR points a few years ago.
Looking forward to seeing you both!

Koko what's up girl? Not coming home until July 4th week instead of June, too much going on here right now. What's the DCAC, when is it? Is it close to where my parents are in Herndon?

Hey girl, I was wondering if you were going to be in town this month. The DCAC conference is about 40 minutes from your folks place in Alexandria, VA. Below is a link to their website. Steve (NJSpiner) is going to be in town on July 1st so maybe we can all get together then. Not much is up. It is the summer of camping and mountain biking. My oldest son and I are having a blast. Hope you are enjoying yourself.

Besides Abby and T, who else will be at Josh's ride? I'm coming with my friend Donna! Anyone know if the metro drops off close to the venue? We might do that instead of the drive...
Can't wait!

Thanks for the great info, SB! When you say "have fun," are you dropping the hint that the metro might not be the best way to go? I've had good luck going into DC via Greenbelt on the green line. Would I be smarter to just drive to Alexandria (I'm in Westminster)? I'm only going for the evening, not the whole conference. Thanks again!

Unlike the NYC subway which smells like pee all year round and has rats crawling along the tracks, the Metro is clean and sweet smelling.

Thanks, Bob! I mapquested the driving route from our house & it said 1 hour 36 minutes to which my husband and his friend (who both work closer to DC) laughed their butts off. I think we'll stick with the metro!!! I always feel like I'm on an adventure when I take the metro...:)
