Hi All:
I've had a Tanita body fat scale for over 10 years, but recently purchased an new one that gives Relative Age in addition to body fat, bone mass etc.
Quite a cool feeling to see that the scale thinks my 44 yr old body is 26 - 29 yrs old depending on my body fat and weight. Big ego boost and gives me incentive to work hard.
I bet most of us are pretty fit and we all can get this nice ego boost.
Here's more info:

I rarely endorse products, but I really like this one.

That's pretty cool, and yeah, quite the ego boost. Especially now, when I go to the grocery store and get called "ma'am." I just wanna smack those little sons of...oops...'scuse me I got carried away...

Reminds me of when I was in the Corps and used to love calling women officers, "Sir," just to mess with them...I never got used to saying, "ma'am."

If it says you're 16 will you start getting carded again?

If I wasn't missing some follicles up top I probably would (except for the wrinkles and ridden hard look). ;)

I stood on one this week, seems like I'm 20 years old, no wait, I'm emaciated.

HI Lewis!
The body fat % has a lot to do with predicting the age I think...I guess if one was a starving 90 yr old, the scale might think one were about 15???

Doesn't this all depend on what time of day you stand on it. Is it still the same as the old Tanita for measuring body fat, in the evening? I've had mine for over 10 years too, and to be honest I don't believe much in it. I can get on there each day at the same time, and depending on what I've eaten in the last 24 hours depends on what my body fat read out is. The strangest thing was the more water I drank the higher my body fat reading was - what's up with that?

I agree with EuroD. I've stepped on it at different times of the day and my body fat ready changes constantly. I don't believe they are very accurate. The only thing that seems to read consistently the same is my weight.

I would be afraid that it would tell me I'm older than my age so I am staying off. I feel really old and crappy this week (but enough of that).
Lewis if you are still reading - you need to eat. I understand where you are right now but I saw you before and there wasn't much room to drop any weight from your frame. Please PM me. I will even cook and I can have a friend who goes to Gold's drop it off there for you.
