Hi there! I've decided to stop "lurking" and register as a member. This is such a great community of people. I have been reading the forum for quite a while - My favorite is the playlist thread. I use the suggestions quite often when I search for new music for outdoor training.
I have been attending spin classes for quite a while now. I have done about 5 triathlons and I am playing with the idea of taking it to the next level. Does anyone have any advice for getting certified to instruct indoor cycling classes? The area health clubs include Lifetime Fitness, LA Fitness and XSport Fitness.
Thanks and I'm very excited to be a part of such a cool group.
Happy spinning!

Welcome Natalie! Glad you stepped from the shadows. As far as certifications, I guess the first step would be to check at the clubs near you and see what they prefer. It would be a bummer to spend the money on a cert, only to find it's not the one required when you try to get hired. Once you figure that out, we can surely guide you through the processes, as we've forumites with all different certs.

Well hello there, Natalie! THANK YOU for stepping up to the plate and introducing yourself! Welcome to the fold--and you are right, this forum is loaded with great folks who are more than willing to share their experience, information and opinions. It's a wealth of information at your fingertips. Just ask, and you shall be answered!

I agree with what Pink says. Check around at the local clubs and see what kind of certs. they offer or they prefer. Also, I would check the spinning.com website and see if there are any upcoming certification workshops coming to your area, and then decide from there if you want to shell out the money to attend. Certs. can be costly, but I recommend that you go with an accredited entity (like MDA, Schwinn or Keiser, for instance).

So glad you are here with the rest of our crew! Thanks again for introducing yourself and it will be fun seeing you 'round the forum. Don't be shy about posting---it's all good!
