So with Contador on his way to winning his third grand tour, I'm just wondering how this will all play out next season when Lance returns to cycling and Astana. Postal and Discovery always made the point of having only one distinct leader on the team. Armstrong will certainly take that role (I can't imagine it any other way). But where does that put Contador?

This is the $60million question! When asked about it last week, Contador said he'd like to race again with Lance...but he was planing on winning the TDF!
this is gonna get interesting...

Maybe I dreamt it but didn't I read somewhere that Brujneel was contemplating abandoning Astana to go wherever Lance is/was? I recall thinking to myself that's just a crappy thing to do...

Just read this and now I'm thinking either they're playing with us (Johan and Lance) or Lance has some other plans...Team Livestrong?

I love the idea of Team Livestrong, sounds like a win-win situation.

My first thought on Lance's announcement was "ooooooo, Team Livestrong!"
A completely new team, assembled to circumvent any new rule the Tour organizers can dream up. A team designed to bring positive press to cycling, cancer research, and a doping-free racing atmosphere (not necessarily in that order.)
Who would you put on such a dream team? Remember, Tyler's possibly on his way back, too...

This is exactly what I was afraid of:
Proskurin also said that Armstrong would share the leadership in the team with the current leader, Spaniard Alberto Contador, the 2007 Tour de France winner who has won both the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España this season. Contador said on Monday that he was reluctant to ride with Armstrong if that meant the American would take over leadership of the team.
"It would be quite complicated. I think I've earned the right to be the leader of a team without having to fight for it," he said in the interview published Tuesday. "And with Armstrong, there could be difficult situations in which the team would put him first and that would harm me."
Proskurin said he recognized the potential for problems, but expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved.

You can't over look the money to be made with Lance's return! Lance is a smart businessman too. Just think of bike sales alone. Lance recently opened Mellow Johnny's....... GREAT bike shop if you get to Austin!
More exposure to bike racing/cycling...... I bet we'll see more faces in the IDC classes with Lance's return.
