Abby, can the old-timers join in? I'll bring some cookies (I was going to say fruitcake, but even I'm not *that* old). Trivia: what IC member loves fruitcake? Newbies, take a guess.

Thanks Ladies for joining in! I invite old and new to do the same. I can't think of a better way to share in this new era.

Actually let's have a little fun while we're at it. After you say hello, write 3 little known random things about yourself.

OK, I'll start.

1. I went to see the Grateful Dead In Norfolk VA instead of going to my senior Prom. ( I like tie dye better than taffeta)

2. I was engaged to be married twice before I married the man of my dreams and the love of my life. (yes, he would have no problem wearing tie dye)

3. I am very easily distracted by shiny things.

OK, So who's next!:D

Have Fun!

I always feel weird talking about myself but heck, OK I'll do it.

1. I was delivered by my father.

2. I mix ketchup (Heinz!) and mustard together and have it on my chicken breast every day for lunch for the past 5 years (at least).

3. I am terribly impatient.

Alrighty, what have I discovered? That I am really boring! Digging deep here...

1. I'm a direct descendant to 2 signers of the Declaration of Independence (Benjamin Rush & Richard Stockton).

2. I can't walk down spiral staircases (I'll more than likely faint).

3. When I was a teen, our Great Dane puppy was dognapped from the SPCA (had been there to be spayed). It was written up in all the papers & on the news. Never found her.

This is fun - would love to hear from some new members!

1. My grandfather was Commanding Officer on Wake Island for the Navy (WWII) and was captured by the Japanese and spent 4 years in POW camps. [all the History channel stories of Wake Island usually highlight the Marines, but the Navy was on the other side of the island]

2. I have always loved salty sour things - I used to drink pickle juice when I was young and pretended I was drinking a cocktail (because it made me shudder the way those sips of my dad's cocktail did, but the pickle juice I liked)! I still love pickles and olives...

3. Spent 9 months in a body cast in southern California at age 15 (summers were hot, hot, hot). No shower for 6 months, :o then they gave me a new one and then 3 months no shower (took washcloth baths but it did get pretty stinky...). Thank God the methods have changed and no one has to go through the same thing (for scoliosis)!

1.) My uncle survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) after delivering the first operational atomic bomb during WWII. He and his wife were tragically killed by a drunk driver after his tour of duty.

2.) I have applied to be on the reality show Survivor more than once.

3.) I love salsa on my scrambled eggs.

3. Last year I grossed between two gyms about the same amount of $ as if I worked one week extra at my day job, but hey I love spinning no matter what I make doing it. I love what I do!

Ok, so post #1. I'm new to this forum but have been posting on the other one for quite awhile. I changed my login on this one (always hated my other login - it was assigned to me.)

So here are my 3:
1. My grandfather is in Field & Stream's Flyfishing Hall of Fame for landing the 2nd biggest trout on a hand-tied fly. My dad gave my 12-year-old boy my grandfather's tackle box, complete with those beautiful flies, for Christmas this year. (Please, a collective "awwwwww" is required here).
2. 2 years ago my mother retired and asked me if I would take tap-dancing (actually, "clogging":o) lessons with her. I sucked it up, swallowed my pride and did it. And wouldn't you know, I'm a freakin' natural - took to it like a fish to water. I feel ridiculous and can't stand the music but I just can't keep my feet from tapping. Good lord, could I get any geekier??
3. I love Will Ferrell movies and quote them frequently - particularly Anchorman. "Don't act like you're not impressed".

Looking forward to seeing what's what and who's who on IC. Thanks for a fun way to introduce myself. :D

2. I can't fall to sleep at night without reading- I LOVE to read!
3. Our family has rescued 2 wire fox terriers- we lost our first to a freak accident in the backyard- what a heartbreak for my husband and I(our 2 kids were too little to understand)- we now have had Clifford for 3 years- he is growing with our kids- he is wild, but soooo cool!

Here's some more:

1. My mom fell for my dad when she was 2 years old & he was 4. My inlaws fell for each other when they were 14.

2. My great-grandmother was "sold to the egg man." "The people who raise her" (but didn't officially adopt her), sold her to my great-grandfather, a recent Italian immigrant, who went from farm-to-farm, selling eggs.

3. My dog once said, "I'm hungry." Honest, you can ask Mr. P!

3. My dad found my hidden smokes in my bedroom back '77 and decided to teach me a lesson by making me smoke an entire cigar (inhaling it!) until I quickly hurled and repented.
