I thought maybe I should actually introduce myself. I started teaching aerobics at a women's gym in 1990- read, one piece "cat suit", scrunchie socks and a matching underwear looking bottom. Hmmmm, maybe I shouldn't actually admit that. I started personal training a couple of years later. I got certified through Maddog 7 years ago at a NYC Crunch Fitness.
I'm now in northern CA working at a club that just opened 11/08 has the M3 bikes. I'm loving the computer. It's made it a lot easier to not have to do cadence checks and "gear guesstimation."
My am classes have embraced all of the info and I think I've killed a Wednesday night class (never had numbers plunge like that).
Anyway, I'm teaching cycle classes, KB, weight training classes, and working on Zumba (man, when did I start looking like such a spaz?)
Let's see, busy mom of 5 (so questionable sanity). Love to paint, sculpt, rockclimb, dive and read.
I can't wait to get to know everyone.
Nikki
Welcome Nikki! I'm glad you shared a little of your life...but tell me, do you have more hours in your day than I do? How do you fit it all in? I'm humbled. I'll look forward to getting to know you better.

A hearty welcome to our very own little sandbox in cyberspace Nikki. Believe it or not, I know that one of the gyms that Pink teaches at is actually in Doylestown.

Wow Nikki, how do you juggle teaching and 5 youngins??
I only have one and I'm exhausted!
I had to laugh at what you said about looking like a spaz in Zumba, when I auditioned our Zumba instructor last fall, I did the class and my hips refused to do that circle thing to the left! Sheezz I thought I had rhythm!
oh...and WELCOME to the forum, nice to have you here with us! :)

Wow, thanks for the welcome. I'm excited by the knowledge and support that's available.
As for the kids...the best part about teaching is putting them in the daycare! Talk about a great incentive to work out!

Good to see another person from Cali here. Whereabouts in the Bay Area are you?

My son was a nightmare when he was an infant -- he cried every waking moment. I was half out of my mind. My gf talked me into joining the Y with her, to get me out of the house. I agreed, although I could barely keep my eyes open, let alone exercise. I put him in childcare and about 20 minutes later they came and got me, saying they couldn't handle him. I tried again a few days later and they did it again. This time they told me not to bring him back. :o I think I started crying then.

Hi Nikki
I am one of the "mature" members on forum, a pharmacist and probably the only pharmacist in the world to work as a fitness instructor. I work out a small club in Buffalo, NY and a chain of 7 clubs here. Welcome!
