No not a wart removal but I am getting the dreaded plantar fasciitis. Too much pounding on the feet. So here is to putting the ice on the feet and in the adult beverage.

plantar fasciitis
Is this anything like the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote's latin names of "Fastius Tasty-us", and "Apetitius Giganticus?":p
Sorry Mike. Soak the feet but please, save at least some of the ice for shaken martinis.
I had it 4 years ago and it's not a very happy process. After 6 months of therapy which did squadoosh, I had a plantaar fasciotomy and am fine now.
Get orthodics and go up .5 to 1 full shoe size.

Whatever you do DO NOT get a cortisone shot! I had this back in the mid-late 90's (teaching about 12 aerobic classes/wk) and got the shot, was in worse pain for weeks AFTER the dang thing than before (and I had to pay for it to boot!).
I'll dedicate a drink to you tonight Megs! ;)

+1 on this comment. Do NOT get a cortisone shot. I have some numbness in my feet for years.

Ok the feeling in my heel is like I am walking around on pointy but blunt rocks. I have another sensation that is like being stuck with a needle on the heal just before it falls into the arch on the medial side. It is, without a doubt, the most annoying sensation that I have ever felt. ICE and RICE baby.
Thanks for your input I will follow it.

Stretching stretching and stretching try to play with your foot, yours toes, all articulations and release any tension, tightness.
The yoga movement where you hook your big toe and extend your leg are great for that. Plantar facia have to be posture so keep it a longuer time.
Take it at soon as possible it will transform rapidly as a little ossification of your tendon that will have repercution for all your life.
Are you shoes still good ? Cycling and others ?
Do you do a lot of impact activity ? If yes stop them before it would be too late. Insole would help ask to a competant podiatre. Taping help too but you need a type of glue to keep it.
As other say cortisone shot would just mask the pain IF IT WORK. So avoid it.
Hope it help.
Okay, I'm going against the grain here, but the cortisone shot worked for me. Yes, the pain was AWFUL but I could walk on my foot without pain immediately and it was pain-free for weeks. Even when I resumed running, it was better. I also highly recommend the Strasburg Sock which pulls back your toes so the fascia is lengthened while you sleep. My pain went away with this sock, icing the heel immediately after running (spinning never bothered it), and then heating it back up with a rice bag. It took awhile but now my heel only hurts occasionally and when it does flair up, it's bearable. Don't forget the anti-inflammatories too. Good luck!

Ouch, I missed this the first time around. I wouldn't have had much to add since I've been spared this. So glad you are feeling better, Meg, without the shots! Fingers crossed that it continues. :)

Thanks Pink,
Let me tell you that I have not subbed to many classes for the last month.;) And with all the riding out of doors coming up, I was a little nervous. Definitely do not sit on an injury and get it solved from ouch number 1.

Yeah, like that's going to happen. That would take a few more brain cells & a little less stubbornness. At least for me...
Funny story...after about 5 years of shoulder pain, I finally went to the ortho. He asked me how long it's been bothering me and I was embarrassed to say 5 years, so I lied and said 3. He read me the riot act about allowing things to go on for so long blah blah blah. Well, towards the end of the appointment, he mentioned he has knee pain. I cracked up and teased, "Well, you should see about that, how long has it been bothering you?" and he says, "Since college." LOL, he was in his 40's! So then I came clean and said, "Well in that case, my shoulder's been hurting for about 5 years." Obviously, he prescribes to the 'do as I say, not as I do' school of medicine.
