If you have multiple computers you use your IPod on, do not update to ITunes 8.0. It now will only allow it to sync to 1 PC or erase legitimate music or videos.

I bought a video this morning after nonchalantly downloading the update. It erased all the other videos i bought on another computer.

What a crock. Could you get them back?

Sure...they are on the original PC. It only effcts you if you use 1 or more Ipods on multiple computers. In my complex world, it's a problem..plus I got an IPhone too.

I think the issue is manual versus automatic syncing, which has always been an issue with iTunes and is not new to version 8. I'm using iTunes 8.2 and I use my iPod on my home and work computers and haven't had any problems, but I sync my iPod manually.

Suddenly, glad to be simple.

Not it...every Ipod I own is set manually. When I bought my IPhone last month it first revealed itself. 1 PC per IPhone. I was on the phone with a tech support, which they normally charge for, and had to give it to me free for not being able to solve it.

I can't speak for iPhones, but all my iPods are used on multiple computers and I'm using the latest iTunes and I haven't lost any purchased content, movies, apps or music because of it. I hope Apple figures it out for you.

I still think that Itunes has more bugs than Windows 95 But what I have to use it. Moving on to 8.3
