Hey Guys and gals,
Yesterday was the big day (triathalon) in which I gave myself 12 days to train for even though I do teach spin and ride outdoors and am a seasonal runner. My weakness was the swimming part. It was a beautiful day out there and thank goodness the ocean was warm and calm like a lake. The swimming portion went nice and fast - thank goodness, I loved the biking section - all flat roads and the running part was fine. I wore my h/r watch for the bike and run portions of the ride and I knew exactly where I wanted to be at between 80 and 85% and I basically used my watch as a guide the entire time. It really helped me out tremendously! I finished in 1 hour 25 minutes and won a medal for coming in 2nd place in my age catagory - I couldn't believe that!!!! What a wonderful experience - I can't wait for the next one! Thank you guys for all of your tips - they really came in handy and for all of your positive responses - I couldn't have done it without you! rgds, Spunkee
